Through my involvement with outreach programs and health seminars, I learned about the importance of health education and medical care to smaller communities, which have limited access to medical service. I see the need of the people to have better medical care in these areas to address issues about nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation and prevent the spread of infectious diseases and casualties due to lack of information and available service. I find great fulfillment in being a health educator and also being a medical lab technologist where I assist in testing and analyzing collected specimen for research and diagnosis. But because of my fervent interest in helping people in my community and belief in my higher purpose in life, I decided to take a medical degree so I can be a medical specialist and be able to save more lives through proper medical care.
